Education and Outreach

With donor support, the Museum reaches thousands of Canadians each year through its extensive educational programs. On-site curriculum-based school programming, online resources such as the Canada and the First World War module and travelling resources like Supply Line encourage lifelong learning about our military history.

Support the Museum

As Canada’s national museum of military history, the Canadian War Museum safeguards this country’s military history for current and future generations, but we need your help.

We rely upon support from people like you to advance research, to acquire and preserve artifacts, to develop on-site and travelling exhibitions, and to create educational resources — all of which help make connections to personal stories and critical moments from Canada’s military history.

Your donation makes military history accessible to Canadians right across the country. Most importantly, your support will help preserve a proud, collective memory of our past.

Your support can take many forms — make a one-time gift, become a monthly donor, donate in honour of a loved one, or make a gift through your estate.

Make a Donation

Make a One-Time Gift

When you make a donation of any amount, you are making it clear that you believe Canada’s military history matters. That the stories of the people that served, and who were affected by war, must be preserved and shared – lest they be forgotten. That students should be able to see the faces, hear the voices, read the words, and touch the objects of those who served our country. That artifacts must be preserved, research advanced, and our military history shared through on-site exhibitions and exhibitions that travel far and wide.

We need your help to do all of this. When you become a loyal donor — contributing an amount with which you are comfortable — you are helping bring our military history to life on behalf of our veterans and their families, and for all Canadians.

Become a Monthly Donor — The Contributors’ Circle

Monthly donors are a select group of people who choose to make an affordable contribution every month, adding up to a generous donation by year’s end. Together, as a special community of loyal supporters, the Contributors’ Circle has an even greater impact. Their ongoing monthly donations provide a dependable revenue stream to help preserve and share Canada’s military history.

For more information, or to join the Contributors’ Circle, please contact Kim Strydonck at 819-776-8640 or kim.strydonck@warmuseum.ca.

Join the Partners’ Circle

As a member of the Partners’ Circle, you will be part of an important and dedicated group whose support is vital in presenting the stories of Canada.

By making a tax-deductible annual gift of $1,000 or more, Partners’ Circle members help our Museum deliver dynamic exhibitions and programs, undertake exceptional research and preserve significant artifacts. With your support, we can promote and share Canada’s legacy of exploration, resilience, service and achievement. Learn more.

Plan a Gift Via Your Estate

Our past informs our future — create your legacy today.

A gift to the Museum via your estate makes a significant difference toward safeguarding and sharing the story of Canada’s military history for future generations.

Please contact Megan Ollivier at megan.ollivier@warmuseum.ca to learn how your bequest can help the Museum.

Make a Gift of Securities

Publicly traded securities eligible for donation to the Museum include mutual-fund units, as well as shares, bonds, warrants, options and futures that are traded on any prescribed stock exchange. The donor receives a tax receipt reflecting the full fair market value of the securities, but pays only half the usual tax on any capital gains. The resulting tax credits can far outweigh the tax incurred.

For more information, please contact Kim Strydonck at 819-776-8640 or kim.strydonck@warmuseum.ca.
