Urban Native Life: They Paved Paradise, Life in the Parking Lot

Submissions may be made to this pilot project until December 15, 2009. There is no fee to submit your work to this site.

A jury comprised of artists, and Canadian Museum of Civilization curators and outside experts will review submissions each month. Successful submissions will be posted as soon as possible after they are reviewed.

We are currently developing a proposal for an exhibition on urban Native life.  If the proposed exhibition is approved, works posted on this web site may be included. Artists whose works are selected for the exhibition, will be contacted in the summer of 2010.

Artist fees will only be paid to those artists whose works are selected for the exhibition. Essentially, this site is an opportunity for you to showcase your work.

We welcome submissions in a range of genres.
Submissions will be reviewed for their relation to the theme pertaining to Native urban life, the experience reflected in the work, coherence and production values.

Submissions chosen for the Web site will be presented in the original language. Please keep in mind that this is a public site, viewed by millions of adults and children. We do not discourage works which deal with mature subject matters.  However, if selected, these works may have to be posted in a “mature subject matter” section.

To submit your work, please complete the Submission Form.
