The Canadian Museum of Civilization, the Canadian Children's Museum, and the Canadian Postal Museum are located in Gatineau, Quebec, on the banks of the Ottawa River, directly opposite Parliament Hill. The museum building is easily accessible from downtown Ottawa by foot, bicycle, public transit, or by car and has on-site parking.

Alexandra Bridge / Interprovincial Bridge Construction (April to October 2010)
The Alexandra Bridge, also known as the Interprovincial Bridge, links Sussex Drive in Ottawa and Boulevard des Allumetières in Gatineau. It provides a link between the tourist attractions of the Byward Market and the Museum of Civilization. The Chaudière Bridge, MacDonald-Cartier Bridge and Portage Bridge also provide vehicular access from downtown Ottawa to the Canadian Museum of Civilization.
The Alexandra Bridge will be undergoing construction affecting the centre lane of the bridge. The centre lane will be closed from April to October 2010. During this period, the bridge's one remaining lane will be open to either Ottawa- or Gatineau-bound traffic, as follows:
- Weekdays from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., open to Ottawa-bound traffic only
- Weekdays from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., open to Gatineau-bound traffic only
- Weekdays from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., open to Ottawa-bound traffic only
- Weekends and holidays, open to Ottawa-bound traffic only
Pedestrian access on the Alexandra Bridge:
- The replacement of the pedestrian boardwalks on the Alexandra Bridge will take place in fall 2010. The work will be phased so that users have continuous access across the bridge in both directions, but the width of the boardwalk may occasionally be reduced.

Rate: $1.75 per half hour
Daily maximum rate: $10.00
Flat rate from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.: $5.00
TO EXIT THE PARKING BETWEEN 11:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m., please use the automated attendant.
You can pay for parking at one of the kiosks located near the Museum exits on levels P1 and P2.
There is additional parking on streets around the Museum. Check for posted hours and rates.

The Museum is located right on the scenic Voyageurs Pathway; bicycle racks are available by the main entrance of the Museum and the Voyageurs Cafeteria. We are happy to check your bike gear in our complimentary cloakroom.
