Tank Pin
This pin depicts a First World War tank with Canada inscribed beneath it. The pin was manufactured by Birks Jewelers and owned by Corporal Walter Prest of the 6th Battalion of the British Tank Corps. Prest was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal for his actions on 23 August 1918 at Bihucourt, where he commanded a tank under intense enemy machine-gun fire. He also co-coordinated with another tank crew to capture a battery of field guns and force the surrender of between 150 and 200 Germans.
