"Kultur" and Nurse Cavell
This postcard comes from a series of six created by Italian artist Tito Corbella following the execution of Nurse Edith Cavell in October 1915. The artist portrays a saintly Cavell facing a sinister figure of death and a shadowy council, who represent the Germans and their military "kultur" (culture) that has brought war to the world.
