Early Cold War (1945-1968)

Following post-war reductions, the Royal Canadian Navy was rebuilt during a time of growing Cold War tensions, emphasized by the 1950-1953 Korean War. As it had been during the two world wars, the navy's main Cold War mission was anti-submarine warfare, and it built a fleet and developed technology tailored to this mission.
