Put on your dancing shoes and 40s-inspired outfits for a swell evening of dancing to live music!

For one night only, we are turning the LeBreton Gallery into a Second World War era dance hall. Put on your dancing shoes and 40s-inspired outfits for a swell evening of dancing to live music by Ottawa’s swing band, Peter Liu and the Pollcats.

Don’t know the steps? Don’t worry. We have some of Ottawa’s best dance instructors to get you started. Discover for yourself why swing was all the rage during the Second World War — when songs like Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Jumpin’ Jive and Chattanooga Choo Choo gave servicemen and women, factory workers and homemakers a temporary, but welcome, escape from life’s hardships.

The annual War Museum Swingfest is held in the spirit of diversity and inclusion. It is truly an event for all. Last year, it was a sold-out smash, so get your tickets before it’s too late!
