Lacrosse 1812: The Game of History

At 1 p.m., learn more about the connection between lacrosse and the War of 1812 through First Nations re-enactors and historical experts.   

At 2 p.m., watch a demonstration of lacrosse with traditional equipment and costumes, followed by a beginner’s clinic. Come out and give it a try!

As a complement to 1812, the Canadian War Museum is proud to present Faces of 1812, an exhibition created by Library and Archives Canada that highlights the human side of the War of 1812.

Special Exhibition: Images of the Mexican Revolution

North Corridor

Images of the Mexican Revolution (1910–1920) presents rare, powerful, and compelling period photographs of one of the twentieth century’s longest and deadliest conflicts.

This exhibition was created by the Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia (the National Museum of Anthropology and History), Mexico and is presented in partnership with the Embassy of Mexico in Canada.

Special Exhibition: One War, Two Victories

One War, Two Victories explores the experiences of Chinese Canadians who served in the Canadian Military and Volunteer Services and in Allied war efforts during the Second World War.

The exhibit is organized by the Chinese Canadian Military Museum Society in partnership with the Canadian War Museum. It was made possible in part through a grant from the Community Historical Recognition Program of Citizenship and Immigration Canada.

Quill Pen Writing

During the War of 1812, important messages were written using a quill pen, sealed with wax and hand-delivered.  Write your own letter with a quill pen and seal it to keep it secret.
