Award-winning Canadian documentary photographer Louie Palu covered nearly every Canadian and American unit in Kandahar from 2007-2010, including over 150 medevac missions with the 101st Airborne. His stunning photographs of this time in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan can be seen in the Canadian War Museum’s exhibition Kandahar – The Fighting Season. Listen to Louie talk about these experiences, featuring images and video of Canadian Forces on the frontline.�

Lecture – Hamilton and Scourge: Archaeological Exploration of Two War of 1812 Shipwrecks

Join Jonathan Moore, Senior Underwater Archaeologist with Parks Canada, for a lecture on the three rounds of archaeological fieldwork completed at the wrecks of the Hamilton and Scourge in 2007, 2008 and 2009. These well-preserved wrecks are from the War of 1812-era. This illustrated talk will describe briefly the wrecks and their history, outline carefully planned preparatory studies in the lead-up to the survey, and report on the archaeological results of the multifaceted survey of two fascinating shipwrecks.

Joint presentation of the Archaeological Institute of America and the Ontario Archaeological Society, with the cooperation of Parks Canada and the Canadian War Museum.
