The Margaret and Jim Fleck Family Hub

December 23, 2019

Married for 65 years, Margaret and Jim Fleck have been major supporters of the arts, culture and education.

As a successful and respected businessman and academic, Dr. Fleck’s career took them around the world, where he and Margaret raised a family, and Margaret — an ordained Anglican minister — engaged in social causes that included work with at-risk youth.

Shortly before her death in January 2019, Margaret and Jim made a gift to the Museum. In appreciation of Jim’s dedication to the Museum as its Chair, and Margaret’s own commitment to Canadian culture and history, the Museum has proudly named the central area in the Canadian History Hall the Margaret and Jim Fleck Family Hub.

The Museum extends its sincere thanks to the entire Fleck family. The naming of the Hub not only reminds visitors of Margaret and a life well lived, but of the important contributions to Canadian arts and culture made by this outstanding family.
