Description
The Avro Lancaster was an upgraded version of the Avro Manchester. It was designed in 1940 and it was manufactured in Canada by Victory Aircraft Ltd., which became A.V. Roe (Avro) Canada. It served as a bomber throughout the war and was quickly converted into a photographic reconnaissance aircraft for charting and mapping Canada. It was also used by maritime patrols during the Cold War.
