Dambusters is a squadron formed by the Royal Air Force in 1943 with the mission to destroy key dams on German grounds. This British squadron also included some Canadians. They mainly flew Lancasters during the war. The name Dambusters was adopted after the famous Dams Raid in 1943, during which the use of ‘bouncing bombs’ led to the destruction of two dams.
