- Additional Information Born in 1896 in Rossland, British Columbia, Forteath served in the 54th Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force (CEF), and in the 2nd Canadian Mounted Rifles between 1915 and 1919. He enlisted again in the Canadian Army in 1940, was posted to England in 1941, and retired in Canada in February 1942. He died in 1943 of a heart attack attributable to his service overseas
