- Additional Information This cutaway was a teaching aid for student tank crews. Does it seem well protected with armour? The Sherman's vulnerability to Second World War German high-velocity guns led to its being called the "Ronson", a period cigarette lighter with a memorable sales motto: "lights the first time, every time." German troops gave it a grimmer name: the "Tommy cooker."
