It was worn on the right arm above the elbow. Later Canadian brassards typically included a Canadian maple leaf collar badge between the letters. Military police served under the authority of the provost marshal, with the first Canadian units sent overseas, but the Canadian Military Police Corps was not officially established until September 1917 to ensure discipline and enforce punishments.
