- Additional Information Two Canadian transport squadrons flew hazardous missions delivering 56,000 tons of cargo and 30,000 passengers in Burma. On 21 June 1945, all six aircrew of this No. 435 Squadron Dakota died when their aircraft crashed in northeastern Burma during severe weather. In 1996, Canadian soldiers retrieved remains of some the crew's, sections of the aircraft, and the personal items.
