- Inscription WAR OFFICE MEDICAL DIVISION FIRST FIELD DRESSING. TO OPEN Outer Cover - Pull tapes apart. Inner waterproof Cover - Tear apart uncemented corners as indicated by the arrow. CONTENTS Two Dressings in waterproof covers, each consisting of a Gauze Pad stitched to a Bandage and a Safety Pin. DIRECTIONS FOR USE. - Take the Folded ends of Bandage in each hand, and keeping Bandage taut, apply the Gauze Pad to the wound and fix the bandage. One Dressing to be used for each wound.
