I was promoted to 1st Lt about May/June I thought this place card hilarious - Bob's idea. Army Promotion was an off-shoot of Army recruiting when I was first sent after basic training (Sept 42); (verso) I must have been invited because I was already a Cadet waiting to go for Officer training Still in barracks I spent part of July + August 43 in the offices there learning al...strations, drills + procedures etc. assisting the C.O,. + others at Glebe Barracks.; (invitation/invitation): The Aide de Camp in waiting is desired by His Excellency The Governor General and Her Royal Highness The Princess Alice countess of Athlone to invite Private B.I. Jaenicke to a Reception on Saturday the 24 of July 1943 from 4.00 to 6.00 o'clock An answer is requested to the A.D.C. in waiting repeating date and time.
