Consisting of 32,000 officers and men this first Canadian army to cross the seas sailed form Canada in October, 1914, and fought their first action in Flanders February 1915. This voluntary mobilization of Canadian troops proved one of the greatest demonstrations in history of the wonderful solidarity, unity and power of the British Empire.
