Canadian artist

Eurich, Richard (1903-1992)

In 1940 the WAAC commissioned two paintings from British painter Eurich. From 1941 to 1945, he acted as Official War Artist to the Admiralty. A Royal Academician from 1953, his marine art is indebted to the precedent of J.M.W. Turner. In its visionary qualities, his work was influenced by artists that include Samuel Palmer and Stanley Spencer.
