Halifax, where this ship is docked, was Canada’s main east coast port during the war. Ships from all over the world gathered here before sailing across the Atlantic in protected convoys. Over 25,000 shiploads of vehicles, munitions, weapons and food made it over to Britain safely under the protection of Canadian warships and aircraft.
