Webley Revolver

This Webley revolver belonged to John David Keys, a Canadian naval officer who served in British landing craft in the Mediterranean.

Keys, who arrived in England in the spring of 1942 to train on landing craft, was issued this pistol as part of his equipment. He subsequently helped bring LCI(L) 272, an American-built landing craft, across the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, and operated from bases in North Africa and Malta. Keys took part in the 1943 landings in Sicily and in subsequent operations along the Italian coast and in Yugoslavia and Greece.
