McDonnell F2H-3 Banshee

McDonnell F2H-3 Banshees, like the example seen here, were the only jet fighters to serve with the Royal Canadian Navy.

Ports for the Banshee's armament of four 20mm cannon can be seen in the aircraft's nose. Other weapons, including rockets, bombs, and air-to-air missiles, could be carried under the wings. This particular aircraft made the last flight by a Canadian Banshee when it was delivered to Calgary, Alberta, in January 1963, to help train students in aircraft construction and maintenance. It was subsequently restored and placed on display by the Naval Museum of Alberta.
