Join Dr. Andrew Burtch, Historian, Post-1945, for a personalized tour of Gallery 4: The Cold War, Peacekeeping, and Contemporary Conflict. In this tour, Dr. Burtch will offer his views on the important moments of the Cold War, Canada’s role in international peacekeeping, and how Canada responded to difficult and intractable conflicts in the years since the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Dr. Andrew Burtch

Dr. Andrew Burtch is the Canadian War Museum’s post-1945 Historian. As curator of Gallery 4, he is responsible for all questions relating to conflicts from the beginning of the Cold War to the present day. He has worked to develop temporary and ongoing exhibitions about the Afghanistan war, the Cyprus peacekeeping mission, the Korean War, military medicine, and war games. His book, Give Me Shelter: The Failure of Canada’s Cold War Civil Defence, received the 2012 C.P. Stacey Award for military history.
