The 2018 BBC Reith Lectures: The Mark of Cain by Margaret MacMillan, C.C.

Witness the presentation and recording of the final 2018 Reith Lecture, “War’s Fatal Attraction,” by Oxford University professor Margaret MacMillan, chaired by British journalist Anita Anand. Professor MacMillan returns to her homeland, and to the Canadian War Museum, where she discusses the paradox of commemoration and looks at representations of war. How do we meaningfully try to capture the essence and meaning of war through art? Can we really create beauty out of horror and death?

Conference at 6:45 p.m.
In English, with simultaneous translation in French.

Lecture by invitation only

The Reith Lectures will also be broadcast on the BBC, beginning June 26. Listen again to the Reith Lectures and download the podcast at: bbc.co.uk/radio4.
