Canadian artist

Clark, Paraskeva (1898-1986)

In 1944 the National Gallery of Canada commissioned Clark to paint the activities of the RCAF Women's Division. An established left-leaning artist, Clark found the assignment challenging, noting in a letter that the real story of women in wartime was to be found in their homes. Her post-war output was primarily landscapes.
