RADAR : A MIRACLE WEAPON
Radar (Radio Detection and Ranging) is an electronic system designed to detect and locate objects such as aircraft or ships. The system works by sending out radio waves at very high speeds - approximately 300,000 kilometres per second. These waves reflect off solid objects, allowing them to be "seen" by radar operators who "read" the echoes to determine the nature of the object, its speed, and its direction of movement. Canadians played a vital role in perfecting radar during the Second World War.
