CANADA RESPONDS The war needed Canadian recruits with practical knowledge of radio, while potential officers were required to have a degree in Electrical Physics or Radio Engineering. After basic military training and some advanced scientific instruction, they left Canada and were assigned to various units of Britain's Royal Air Force.
