CANADIANS IN CHINA
In 1942, as the Japanese drove British and Chinese forces from Burma, three Canadian radar experts were sent to help the Chinese organize and maintain a radar capability. Flying Officer George Brearly, Sergeant George Clews and Warrant Officer Joe Monteith, all from Ontario, carried radar equipment with them and trained the Chinese in its use.
