AIR-SEA RESCUE Radar-equipped flying boats succeeded in rescuing valuable downed airmen around the world. In this photograph, the crew of Catalina "D" wait to be picked up by another aircraft near Poona, India. Many rescues were attempted under far more dangerous conditions.
