As we reflect upon the successes and challenges of last year, and look forward to implementing and building upon programs and resources to reach more Canadians than ever before, we are so grateful for you — our thoughtful and loyal donors, many of whom have supported us for decades! Your donations ensure that the voices and stories of those who shaped this country are safeguarded forever. Thank you for your generous support.

Stories connect us all. They teach and inspire us. And, as Canada’s national museums, we consider it an honour to preserve and share with you the stories of struggle and sacrifice, as well as stories of the tenacity and triumphs we have experienced as a country.

Through stories revealed by objects featured in the History Box program, for example, or those shared by veterans on site or through interviews captured for the In Their Own Voices project, we can begin to understand each other’s experiences, connect with the past, and build a more informed future.

This is why I want to thank you for sharing your stories and thoughts with us. Over the past several months, so many of you have written to tell us about your experiences, and your stories of loss, perseverance and joy have been inspiring. You have made us laugh, and cry, and simply marvel at the tales you have told. That so many of you would take the time and care to share your stories with us is truly humbling.

It is always a pleasure to hear from you. We value your commitment to helping all Canadians — now and in the future — connect with their history and their communities. Thank you again for your tremendous support.

Take good care,
