Afghanistan Ball Cap 2001-2014

A resurgence of the Taliban in the spring and summer of 2006 led to extensive and sustained combat operations, unlike any seen by Canadian soldiers since the Korean War. The most intense fighting was in the Panjwai district, 25 kilometres from Kandahar, used by insurgents as a staging area for attacks on coalition forces. The Canadian Army was sent in the region since 2005.

Afghanistan, Canada’s longest war. More than 40,000 soldiers answered the call and served, with 2179 wounded and 158 making the ultimate sacrifice. Thousands more will need our assistance in the years to come. The front of the cap features the silhouettes of soldiers, and 2001-2014, denoting the years Canadians served.
