In ancient Rome, gladiators trained hard for the high-stakes spectacle of gladiatorial games. Learn more as you watch re-enactors demonstrate ancient Roman fighting techniques.
After the demonstration, visitors ages 16 and under can try their hand at these techniques using special equipment, and make their own gladiatorial shield to take home.
- Gladiator demonstration at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
- Gladiator school at 12 p.m. and 2 p.m.
- Gladiator shields from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This program is offered in conjunction with the temporary exhibition Gladiators and the Colosseum – Death and Glory.
