Knitting

Knitting

Join the Canadian War Museum’s March knitting challenge. Put your nimble fingers to work and learn how to make a knitted rope. Add your bit to the Museum’s collaborative project and let’s see how long it grows. The final length will be announced at the end of March. Take home instructions to make your own spool knitter at home.

Some of CWM’s volunteer interpreters will be on hand during the month to talk about knitting and teach some more advanced techniques.

In conjunction with the special exhibition New Brunswickers in Wartime, 1914 – 1946

During both the First and Second World Wars, boys and girls formed knitting clubs at school and at home to help support the war efforts. Their little hands ensured many Canadian soldiers received warm woolen socks and other knitted comforts in their care packages.
