First World War (1914-1918)

The First World War provided the first test for Canada's navy. Expanding from only two warships in 1914, the Royal Canadian Navy had to face threats from German naval forces operating in the Atlantic and the Pacific, and in particular the menace posed by German U-Boats (submarines) in the Atlantic.
