Designed and built by General Motors of Canada, the C15TA Armoured Truck protected troops and cargo from enemy fire. It was clad in up to 14 mm of steel that could stop small arms fire and fragments from artillery shells.
The C15TA was the basis for the C15AA Armoured Ambulance, which was used until 1946. The Canadian War Museum’s C15AA is thought to be the only existing example. It served with the British Royal Army Medical Corps in Great Britain and later in West Berlin. It bears the name “Tiny.”
