From the trenches to the homefront, this poignant event features readings of letters written by Canadian soldiers, accompanied by live historical music.

This poignant event features letters written by Canadian soldiers in wartime, read aloud by media personalities, actors, students, professional athletes and veterans. Expressing, hope, longing, anguish, and even joy, Letters in a Time of War transports audiences from the trenches to the home front, across oceans and fields of battle, in a compelling exploration of human conflict.

Presenters include CBC Ottawa Morning’s Robyn Bresnahan, foreign correspondent David Halton, writer and historian Charlotte Gray, and former Ottawa Senators Captain Daniel Alfredsson. The event also features evocative period music performed by the Canterbury Trebles Women’s Ensemble.
