Ottawa Bluesfest — in partnership with the City of Ottawa and Ottawa Tourism — is celebrating Ottawa’s 200th anniversary, on Sunday, July 19, with free programming for the whole family from noon to 4 pm on LeBreton Flats, adjacent to the Canadian War Museum.

Extend your family-fun day at Bluesfest with a visit inside the War Museum. Come explore the galleries together, learn about Canada’s military history, and enjoy a fun, hands-on experience for all ages.

Activities offered:

  • Design and colour your own paper tanks in LeBreton Gallery.
  • Discover the evolution of Canadian military rations, from the War of 1812 to the Afghanistan War. Through storytelling, hands-on displays, and interactive participation, explore how food preservation, nutrition and logistics have shaped meals for our armed forces.

Free Museum admission for children under 17 years and 50% off for youth.

The free Bluesfest Daytime Lineup will feature outstanding musical entertainment by Natalie MacMaster & Family, Choir!Choir!Choir! and Les Petites Tounes, along with Blues in the Schools and Be in the Band showcases. In addition to the music, several special family-friendly activities will be offered on site, including Ingenium museum demonstrations and circus and aerial performances.

Road closures are expected in the area surrounding the site and underground parking will be limited. Consult the Ottawa Bluesfest website for more information on accessing the site.
