War Machines Weekend begins Friday night.
Before the machines take to the demo track, join us inside the garage for a special evening exploring the stories, restoration work, and expertise behind some of the Canadian War Museum’s historical military vehicles.
Throughout the evening, restoration experts Mike and Mark, along with collection specialist Grant, and Acquisitions Officer Erin, will share behind-the-scenes insights into the work required to acquire, preserve and prepare these remarkable machines for War Machines Weekend. From complex repairs to unexpected challenges, guests will gain a closer look at the craftsmanship and problem-solving involved in keeping history running.
Along the way, you’ll hear a few stories that remind us that restoration work rarely goes exactly as planned.
History sounds different when it’s running.
