Due to a tornado and violent storm that occurred in the National Capital Region on Friday September 21, 2018 and the need to keep traffic off Ontario roads and inter-provincial bridges, the Canadian War Museum will be closed to visitors and staff on Monday, September 24th.
The Canadian Museum of History (CMH) will be open to the public and staff on Monday. Ontario residents who work at the Canadian Museum of History however, are also requested to stay home. Quebec residents who work at the Canadian Museum of History are requested to report to work as usual.
Essential staff for both Museums involved in critical building operations and security are expected to report to work.
The Museum is monitoring the situation very closely and will provide regular updates on its website.
