The Canadian Museum of History and the Canadian War Museum remain closed until further notice

February 7, 2022

Gatineau, Quebec, February 7, 2022 — Due to protests in the National Capital Region, the Canadian Museum of History and the Canadian War Museum will remain closed until further notice. All on-site events and programs have also been cancelled.

Ongoing protests in the region continue to have a significant impact on traffic circulation in downtown Ottawa, Gatineau, and across the interprovincial bridges, making access to our sites extremely difficult. As a result, the Museums have made the decision to delay their reopening. We regret the impact of this decision on the individuals, families and groups who use our facilities; however, the health and safety of visitors remain our top priority.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the Museums soon. Once a date has been determined for reopening, it will be announced through our website, social media channels and the media, as well as through our electronic newsletter.

Throughout the closure, both Museums will continue to present dynamic digital offerings on their websites. Explore our rich content and stay up to date:
