PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Gatineau, Quebec, June 22, 2022 — The Canadian Museum of History and the Canadian War Museum are delighted to announce that they will be moving to a seven-day-a-week schedule for the summer and expanding their daily hours of operation by one hour.

From July 1 to September 5, the Museums will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and until 7 p.m. on Thursdays. The War Museum will exceptionally close at 5 p.m. on July 7 and 14. These new opening hours also apply to the Canadian Children’s Museum, located inside the Museum of History.

Free admission will be offered at both Museums on Canada Day and tickets will be released a few days before July 1. The hours of operation on that day will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Follow us on the Museums’ social media channels for all the details.

This year, the War Museum is the ideal place to spend Canada Day with your family!

Canada Day 2022 activities will take place mainly in front of the Museum, at LeBreton Flats Park. Museum access does not include access to LeBreton Flats Park. The public is encouraged to access the Museum by bicycle or to use public transit.

To ensure a spot, visitors must reserve their timed admission ticket in advance via our websites. If they have not booked in advance, or prefer to book in person, admission will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Box Office.
