Hands-On History: Curating Canada’s First World War Story
Step into the role of a museum curator and explore the stories behind objects tied to the Canadian experience of the First World War. In this hands-on program, students will investigate key themes such as identity, sacrifice, remembrance and resilience through objects and primary sources.
Exploring Military History Through Art: Women's Perspectives
Explore the untold stories of Canadian women in war through powerful artworks and objects. From nurses and volunteers to artists and soldiers, students will discover how women shaped — and were shaped by — conflict.

Join the Canadian War Museum for a special Remembrance Education Day, offered on two separate dates: November 9 in English and November 10 in French.
This immersive learning experience invites students to commemorate Remembrance Day through history, storytelling, and hands-on discovery. Students will explore themes of remembrance, service and storytelling through a variety of facilitated and self-guided experiences throughout the Museum. Interactive gallery activities, personal stories, and authentic historical objects encourage learners to discover Canada’s military history while making meaningful connections between the past and present.
With two learning streams on offer — one designed for elementary students in Grade 3 and up and the other for intermediate and secondary school groups — the Remembrance Education Day offers engaging, curriculum-connected experiences that foster historical thinking, empathy, and reflection.

Guided tour – Gallery 3: The Second World War
This tour examines how Canada’s fight against dictatorships transformed the country. It encompasses the home front, D-Day, the Italian Campaign and the war at sea and in the air.
