The Canadian Museum of History and Canadian War Museum are continually expanding their diversity of storytelling, reaching broader audiences, embracing new technologies, and pursuing innovative ways of engaging with the past to look ahead. Bringing people together and fostering a shared understanding of our identity and what unites us as Canadians is becoming ever more relevant. Across both Museums, we have ambitious plans to create meaningful experiences that reflect Canada’s diverse histories, cultures and perspectives, beginning with our youngest audiences. In this issue, we are happy to introduce you to one of these exciting projects: the future Canadian Children’s Museum.
As our Museums evolve, we look forward to sharing more about the ways philanthropic support plays a pivotal role in making ambitious projects like this one possible, ensuring our long-term sustainability.
I am thankful for the incredible loyalty and generosity of our donors, and I am pleased to share with you that the Museums are embarking on an exciting new chapter in fundraising. In recent months, a new, independent charitable Foundation of the Canadian Museum of History and Canadian War Museum was established with the strategic purpose of strengthening philanthropic and corporate support for our Museums. As a registered charity, the Foundation will provide new opportunities for engagement aligned with our priorities.

The Museum will also continue its longstanding relationship with the Friends of the Canadian War Museum. For more than 20 years, this dedicated group of volunteers has provided valued support to the War Museum. We are grateful for their ongoing commitment and look forward to continuing to work together alongside the new Foundation.
The Foundation of the Canadian Museum of History and Canadian War Museum will soon begin sharing information about the important work ahead, including introductions to its leadership team. With your permission, the Foundation will provide regular updates and opportunities for involvement that reflect our common goal of advancing exciting new Museum projects that resonate with your interests. We will soon be sharing more information with you about the Foundation, as well as how you can give your permission to the Foundation to reach out to you directly.
