A room filled with tables and chairs in the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa.

LeBreton Gallery

The Canadian War Museum preserves this collection of large military weapons, vehicles and equipment so that the public can better understand the technology that Canadians have operated or confronted in times of both peace and conflict.

The LeBreton Gallery is one of the Museum’s most popular destinations, offering visitors a close-up view of large objects from one of the most extensive collections of its kind in the world. The glass-walled gallery is bathed in natural light and offers a spectacular view of the Ottawa skyline.

On their way to LeBreton Gallery, guests pass through Commissioners Way, where they encounter a first glimpse of the Museum’s stunning architecture, thoughtful displays of various objects, a striking example of Second World War “nose art,” and rectangular windows that spell out the initials of the Canadian War Museum in Morse Code, in both English and French.
